How can I find an eTandem partner?

You can find an eTandem partner either through the Tandem Agency of the International Tandem Network at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany (for post-secondary students, for school-age students and for classes) or through Parvis (Standard eTandem Partner Service for all remaining adult learners).

Basic services for finding eTandem partners are free of charge!

We will accept your registration for any language.

Registration forms

In order for us to be able to start searching for an eTandem partner for you, please fill out the registration form applicable to you:

• Form for university and school-age students
  
  
• Form for all remaining adult learners
  
  
• Form for classes and groups

Required information

We need the following information from you:

• Your e-mail address
• Your first and last names
• Your native language
• The foreign language you wish to learn from your eTandem partner
• The communication media you wish to use in your eTandem partnership
• Name and location of your school or university (only for school-age and university students)

Please fill out a separate registration form for each language you are learning!

Special wishes

When requesting an eTandem partner free of charge, it is not possible to express additional wishes regarding your partner.

However, if you fill in optional information about yourself on the registration form, we will make an attempt to take this into account.

Parvis also offers a fee-based Advanced eTandem Partner Service.

Waiting periods

For certain languages the demand for eTandem partners is consistently higher than the supply. This means that in such cases you may have to wait weeks or even months. In rare cases involving less-commonly spoken languages, it may not be possible to find you an eTandem partner.

In our regularly updated summary tables you can find out how many eTandem partners are currently available or not for the language(s) you are learning.

If no partners are presently available, please don't be discouraged: we receive a large number of registrations every day from all over the world so that the situation can change very quickly.
